The apprentice should then pass the written exam after the completion of the program, to obtain a license. He may then work with construction firms or in roofing contracting companies. And once his experience is enough and worked for at least three consecutive years, he can then get his own contractor’s license and be able to start his own company specializing in roofing homes. He can hire other roofers to work for him.
Roofing is a seasonal job and a roofer usually gets busy during warmer months. Windy conditions and wet seasons are not favorable for the roofers, but at these times they can do home repairs to residences. On a study, the average 50% of the roof experts earn salaries between $27,715 and $34,388 in November 2009. And when weather conditions are good and they had done several roofing jobs they would make more than $37,743 annually.
